Danielle (Dani) Age: 22 Alias: xMarinx Fave pairing(s): Marin/Link, Malon/Link (OoT), and Zelda/Link (TP) Contact: dani_pwns [@] hotmail.com - xMarinx has been a fan of The Legend of Zelda since she first played The Legend of Zelda on the NES when she was three. She really became a true fan of the game in 1997 when she played Link’s Awakening and joined the site “Hyrule: The Land of Zelda” (HTLoZ). She instantly was won over by Marin and the couple of Marin and Link. With the release of Ocarina of Time she was a fan of the couple Zelda and Link, but shortly after completion of the game (and a particularly wonderful fanfic) became a huge supporter of the Malon and Link couple. xMarinx started the forum “Diamond in the Rough” because she wanted to provide a place for fans of these two couples where they could talk and post fan fiction and fan art of these couples as well as just the girls themselves. After playing Twilight Princess, xMarinx added the TP Princess and Hero couple to her list of favorites. Since the creation of DitR xMarinx has been in and out of the Zelda fandom, but she still loves The Legend of Zelda more than any other game and lurks around looking at great fan art, reading good fan fiction, and ready to debate about the games or the couples that she loves. Miranda Age: 25 Alias: Mandy Fave pairing(s): Malon/Link, Marin/Link and Ilia/Link Contact: ferowyn [@] hotmail.com - As the website’s main administrator, Mandy makes sure that DitR is running smoothly and that content is made ready to be put online. On the forums she is one of the head administrators as well and making sure they are maintained with the rest of the moderation team. Mandy has been in the Zelda fandom since the late 90’s surfing the internet, collecting and printing fanart of Link to decorate her room and school folders. It wasn’t until 2003 when she created her fan character, Fern, and a website dedicated to her that she considered herself to be a part of the Zelda fandom. In 2004, Mandy joined the Diamond in the Rough forums which briefly relocated to its own domain ZeldaRomance.com for about a year before crashing due to a hack in the server. DitR went back to its original forums and Mandy followed, keeping her acquired moderator status from before. Since then she has been an active presence on the forums and recently took to the task of creating an actual DitR website from the ground up. Currently Mandy is working with her long-time friend Sarah Quillian to support her latest and largest endeavor: The Zelda Project. This large cosplay group is hoping to do their best in replicating the magic and joy of the Zelda series by basing their cosplay on the upcoming fanfic titled "Advent of Darkness", also written by Sarah Quillian. Evangelina Age: 20 Alias: HylianBlood Fave pairing(s): Marin/Link, Malon/Link, Zelda/Link (from Link to the Past), Midna/Link, and Ilia/Link Contact:: hylian.lina [@] hotmail.com - Ever since being found by xMarinx, HylianBlood has been part of the DitR community since late 2003. Just starting off as a simple member, the two had grown a bond that neither of them could break. Allowed to help out on the old geocities website, HylianBlood learned coding that lead to the eventual start of her website: The Dreaming Island. Like Diamond in the Rough for Malon, HylianBlood wanted similar characters like Marin to take their chance at taking the spotlight. She had been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series since playing A Link to the Past on the SNES. It was until Ocarina of Time that she was reeled into the complex story behind the Legend of Zelda. She had been gifted Link's Awakening for the GameBoy Color and soon followed Majora's Mask. Since then, it has been a personal goal for getting others to notice the small things that has helped shape the Legend of Zelda into what it has become. It is Twilight Princess that has made this dream come true for her-- giving minor character major roles. Currently, HylianBlood is working on improving her art and starting her own joined project with her roommate, Liz. The two are working towards graduating college. Boudewijn Age: 23 Alias: AARST Fave pairing(s): Malon/Link, Saria/Link, Ilia/Link Contact: boudewijnhaak [@] hotmail.com - Eternal old-school gamer and Zelda enthusiast by heart. AARST has been a part of the DitR community since day one, but oddly enough was never very actively involved. What he's still doing here and why he's an admin remains a mystery, but we like to keep it that way. There has to be a man in an all-women group of administrators, this is he. AARST is mostly credited for making in-game screen shots of characters and such. He would very much like to be more involved in the re-creation of the website, even going so far as saying he will "do" his "best". Ashley Age: 26 Alias: Serenity (Ren for short) Fave pairing(s): Malon/Link, Marin/Link, Midna/Link Contact: the_cookieman_21 [@] yahoo.com - Serenity has been a fan of the Zelda series since she first played Link to the Past on the SNES in her grandmother's basement. She didn't get into the fandom until she became a regular lurker on the internet, right about 2000-2001. After playing Ocarina of Time on an emulator, she was completely in love with the series, and developed her fan character Serenity. Not long after this, she stumbled upon a forum called ZeldaRomance.com, and her love of the series grew with the people she met there. When ZR was hacked, she followed her friends back to the original home of Diamond in the Rough, where she stays to this day as a moderator. She loves drawing, and is currently in the process of drawing a comic to go along with her story 'Staff of Power'. She also loves to write, and has just recently began to RP. Michelle Age: 21 Alias: Saphine (also known as Michi or Saphy) Fave pairing(s): Zelda/Link, Marin/Link, Malon/Link Contact: michi_6278 [@] hotmail.com - Saphine's "obsession" for the Zelda series began when she was a wee little child. Her first game, and also her favorite of the series, was A Link to the Past. Enjoying one game after another, she had set off in search for more, and during the summer of 2004, she became a part of the online Zelda fandom through The History of Hyrule. It is through these forums that she made her current Zelda friends. When History of Hyrule closed, it was time to search for a new home, and that's how she ended up here at Diamond in the Rough (aka Zelda Romance). When not working or studying, Saphine likes to spend her time drawing fanart and original pictures, as well as writing short stories.
